A 25 minute drive north of Whistler lies the village of Pemberton. Located in the heart of the Coast Mountains and situated at the base of Mount Currie sits a true Canadian gem. The population is around 2,500 but when including the surrounding area the number swells to 6,000. Originally a stopping point for prospectors en-route to the Yukon during the gold rush, today you will find a vibrant community and a great place for families. Pemberton is more affordable for housing and just about everything else compared to its neighbour to the south. This beautiful valley has recently caught the attention of an international market especially the United Kingdom.
Due to the proximity to Whistler and Vancouver this rural community has much potential. Current major development plans include a possible GEMS School, Vodka Distillery, regional airport and new property developments. The culture of the people is mixed which has lead to much creativity in the business community. Recreational pursuits in the valley are extensive and include two golf courses, horse riding centre (Western and English riding), mountain biking, hiking, ski touring, paragliding and much more. It is the place that Alain Therrien is proud to call home!
The current plans include a 120 seat "Neighbourhood Pub" and 50 seat restaurant. There is currently no pub in Pemberton.
